Need urgent dental care?

17 Mar 2017

Did you know that the NHS provides local Urgent Dental Clinics across Cheshire and Merseyside, with urgent appointments for patients who need emergency dental treatment or advice?

Examples of typical dental emergencies that can be treated by the service include:

  • Trauma - this is usually caused by a blow to the face
  • Swelling of the face
  • Bleeding - uncontrolled, such as after an extraction
  • Pain that can’t be controlled by pain relief medicines

If you need help with an urgent dental problem and either your usual dental clinic is closed, or you are not yet registered with a local dental practice, you can call the NHS Urgent Dental Helpline on: 0161 476 9651.

This helpline operates from 9.00am - 9.30pm every day, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

When you call, you’ll be assessed by a member of the clinical team who will provide you with further advice or an urgent appointment if required.

However, please be aware that this service does not deal with routine dental problems such as lost or broken fillings and crowns.

If you are not currently registered with a local dental practice, you can find and choose a local dentist convenient for you, by visiting www.NHS.uk and selecting 'Services near you'

Didn't help at all! My partner has had an abscess on his tooth for 3 days and they still won't see him! Shame on you.
