NHS Liverpool CCG is in the process of reviewing over 100 policies for routine health treatments and procedures to reflect the latest medical evidence about what works and what does not work for patients. These policies are called Criteria Based Clinical Treatments and are being reviewed in stages.
You can find out more about what was included in the first two phases here.
Each of the following policies are currently being looked at in line with national guidelines under phase three of the project (please note that they are marked 'draft' because they are still under consultation):
Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM)
Cough Assist Devices
Secondary care administered peripheral steroid joint injections
Surgery for Prostatism/Lower Urinary Tract (LUTs)
In addition to this, we are informing patients about updates to Botulinum Toxin A & B treatments to bring them in line with NICE guidance and the Pan Mersey Area Prescribing Committee (APC).
