Healthy Liverpool Community Grants Scheme

In July 2014, we announced up to £3m over three years to support local community and voluntary organisations to take action to improve the health of local people and communities.

Professor Maureen Williams, Deputy Chair for NHS Liverpool CCG, said: “We have been very heartened with the partnerships we have developed so far. We look forward to continuing our work with community groups to improve the health of people across the city."

If you're currently running a Healthy Liverpool Community Grant project or another community health programme, please tell us about it below.

Dr Nadim Fazlani, GP and Chair of NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "Healthy Liverpool is an ambitious programme to transform health in our city and working with local community organisations is an important part of this."

Update on Community Grant Scheme - 17 October 2016

In 2014 NHS Liverpool CCG approved a £3m Community Grant fund. Over the last two years we have committed £2.6m of this funding to local community organisations delivering health and wellbeing programmes in the city.
On top of this, in the second year of the programme an extra £200,000 was committed to community organisations running projects which help get people involved in physical activity.

In addition to the Community Grants programme, to date we have invested over £350,000 in more than 100 community engagement projects with community organisations who work with us as partners on our engagement programme. This enables us to hear the views of diverse communities from across the city, in a way which empowers people to not only have their say but improve health in their lives and communities.

Like all public sector organisations, NHS Liverpool CCG is facing an increasingly challenging financial situation.

As a result, we are currently reviewing short-term spending. This is happening alongside our work on Healthy Liverpool - our programme to improve local health services, and ensure they are financially secure for the future.

As a result of this review, we are not able to open up a new round of grant funding applications for 2017.

Please note, this review does not affect funding that has already been awarded and all existing grant commitments will continue unchanged.
