Liverpool CCG has worked closely with the voluntary sector and partners in the public and private sector to meet the challenges faced by some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Many parts of the NHS work closely with voluntary sector organisations, referring and signposting to services that are often of significant benefit to patients.
In order to develop and strengthen the relationship between the voluntary sector and the CCG, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been drawn up following a series of meetings between voluntary sector partners, led by LCVS, and CCG staff.
The Memorandum of Understanding is intended to demonstrate the parties’ commitment to collaboration in the design of health and care services and, where services are provided by voluntary sector partners, to ensure effective partnerships for delivery. It will support collaboration to enable people to access the right care in the right place, with a shared aim to keep more people well and to enable more people to manage their conditions; also to ensure care can be accessed outside of hospital and to recognise and respond better to the social as well as the medical needs of people.
