People living in Liverpool can now access urgent medical advice online at: www.111.nhs.uk.
This new, free service provides health advice and signposting to urgent care services online.
After asking users to enter their postcode and symptoms, it gives a tailored response on how to manage the issue, and/or generates a call back from a healthcare professional, if required.
NHS 111 online is currently available to people living in six clinical commissioning group (CCG) areas in the north west: Liverpool, South Sefton, Southport & Formby, Knowsley, Halton, St Helens. Other parts of the region are expected to follow later in 2018/19.
Delivered in partnership between local CCGs, North West Ambulance Service and NHS Digital, the online service has been introduced to provide a convenient digital alternative to the main NHS 111 helpline, while at the same time reducing pressure on other urgent and emergency services.
